The Shooting Star Express: A Journey to the Land of Imagination
see related

it's been a LONG time (i know)

i haven't written a poem (let alone a descent one) in what seems like forever. i was thinking about it, and because i have taken all my writing classes that i needed for my minor, i only have to read this semester. this is leaving me no time to write poems, it is also leaving me feeling incomplete. so, i will now attempt to write one for you all. here goes...

last night while lying in the grass
i caught a shooting star upon my tongue.
thinking only too quickly i swallowed
so i wouldn't lose it--
       and to give me time
       to make the ultimate wish.
on its way through my body
the star landed on my heart
and while i slept
it memorized my deepest
hidden desires.
i woke this morning with that empty
feeling that comes with such a loss
after something so beautiful
and mysterious
steals your heart and runs
from you in the middle of the night.
now i lie in bed and wonder,
"will my secrets remain that,
or will the star shoot across the midnight
sky sprinking them on loved ones
like pixie dust?"

very rough, i know. but i just wrote it and havent taken the time to revise it yet. anyway, let me know what you all thought of that. is it too "out-of-this-world"?? is the metaphor too lame?

love,
~j.

O.J. Simpson to discuss killings

Wed Nov 15, 12:09 PM ET

Fox plans to broadcast an interview with O.J. Simpson in which the former football star discusses "how he would have committed" the slayings of his ex-wife and her friend, for which he was acquitted, the network said.

The two-part interview, titled "O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here's How It Happened," will air Nov. 27 and Nov. 29, the TV network said.

Simpson has agreed to an "unrestricted" interview with book publisher Judith Regan, Fox said.

"O.J. Simpson, in his own words, tells for the first time how he would have committed the murders if he were the one responsible for the crimes," the network said in a statement. "In the two-part event, Simpson describes how he would have carried out the murders he has vehemently denied committing for over a decade."

The interview will air days before Simpson's new book, "If I Did It," goes on sale Nov. 30. The book, published by Regan, "hypothetically describes how the murders would have been committed."

In a video clip on the network's Web site, an off-screen interviewer says to Simpson, "You wrote 'I have never seen so much blood in my life.'"

"I don't think any two people could be murdered without everybody being covered in blood," Simpson responds.

Simpson, who now lives in Florida, was acquitted in a criminal trial of the 1994 killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman. Simpson was later found liable in 1997 in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Goldman family.

Messages left with Simpson and his attorney Yale Galanter were not immediately returned.

Mary Kay

so, i have officially decided to stop selling mary kay. this does not mean i will leave all of you fine, beautiful women hanging in the balance (or whatever that figure of speech might be). i will be placing one final order for everyone to buy something from me if you so choose. let me know ASAP if you want something and what you want. if i can't get a big enough order together, i might just have to wait, so make sure you know everything you want and if there is a certain product you really like and think you just cant live without, you might want to stock up. i know i have to with the velocity line cause i just love it! anyway, please, please let me know if you want anything and what you want so i can go out with a bang! thanks girls.

Fuck You Monday!

*warning, this is gonna be a little long, but totally worth reading!*

so, it's bad enough that i already hate mondays, right? but to add rain to the mix is just plain hateful! as janis joplin sang, "i cant stand the rain against my window..." who knew 10 (ish) years ago janis would be singing to me as i walked to theatre appreciation? certainly not me. speaking of singing to me as i walk to TA, i have a fabulous playlist that i would like to add to. it is called "fuck you monday!" and i only have 9 songs in it. the song that fit well for today is, obviously, "rainy days and monday" by the carpenters. i would appreciate any songs you know i can add to my playlist. thanks.

*sidenote: i'm tired cause i went to bed @ 2 am. i'm hungry cause i was too tired to make breakfast. i'm excited that i only have 2 days, 4 hours and 19 minutes until fall break begins for me! *end sidenote

back to hating mondays. they suck because i am always tired--either from staying up so late doing homework or from driving back to e-town from o-town. yesterday was my lazy day. saturday night, gaytha, kirsten and i went out for a night on the town. and boy did we paint it scarlet letter red! no, there was no adultery going on (trust me), it was just as exciting though. first, we went to Sig Pi where gaytha knew about 5 people, kirsten knew about 4, and i knew gaytha and kirsten. needless to say, we left shortly after we arrived. the walk home must have been interesting because we dont remember any of it. we got home, drank more, drunk dialed brooke and grolly and left to go to tyrone's birthday. we didnt make it because it got broken up by the cops. oops! so we drove around trying to decide what to do and where to go. the Dugout seemed logical so that is where we went. brian and sam each  bought me a shot (thanks guys) as did kirsten. she is my sugar daddy! thanks K. met a cute guy-spencer, but i'm pretty sure he just turned 21 because he knew nothing about shots. sorry spence, i guess experience comes hand-in-hand with age and i need an experienced guy. then we went home, and kirsten and i went to walmart to get some toilet paper (and i swear everyone knew i was wasted...they could tell. i mean, who else buys 12 rolls of TP at 1 am? exactly.) and then we went to McD's for a double cheeseburger. those never taste as good as they do when one is intoxicated, am i right? back to my house to watch a movie, and our movie of choice was apparently Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the original movie. i dont know how far into it we got before we passed out, but the point is, we watched it. what a great movie. sunday we slept till 1ish and then laid on the couch all day and watched movies (Thank You for Smoking and Grandma's Boy)...apparently it was a smoke out weekend. hmm. not themed on purpose, i promise. desperate housewives was good; mike woke up! that was exciting the whole 5 seconds before we found out he had memory loss (2 years of memory loss). that was sad (especially when he told susan not to come back to visit him). since i live my life for and through the characters on DH, i quickly wanted to kill myself. (ha) oh my...wow, i lost all my momentum on that note. back to my weekend, i guess. so after DH, i started my HW...that was fun. then the pilot light went out in our furnace, so it was a cold night. where was the warm body i so needed to cuddle with for warmth? OH! football game on saturday--we lost! woo! go hornets! i need to do laundry before fall break (sorry, i didnt warn you about that sidenote...next time). i'm still hungry, byt the way so i should eat soon. really soon. also, you are not aware of this because i was not going to tell you, but i actually am writing this in chemistry and 20th century american poetry and i will type it up when i get home. so technically this sentence is fromt he future. "I am typing this right now in my room". wow, you are all a part of history. how insane do you feel right now? try to wrap it all around your head before you answer that question. well i am almost out of paper and i dont want to get another one. so i end this handwritten/typed blog entry right now.

me...domesticated?

so the end of last week and this weekend has given me a glimpse of what my life could be like in a few years (hopefully) and i have to say...i liked what i saw. my boss and her husband went out of town on wednesday and i was the sitter/dog sitter/house sitter for wednesday night until friday evening when they got back. so that was kinda fun. not that i havent done that before, taken care of someone else's kids for an extended period of time while they were gone (the luko's, for example) but it was just a lot of fun getting to do it again. you know, take them to school, pick them up from school, feed them, bathe them, read bedtime stories with them, help with homework, ooh and emma lost her two front teeth; one on thursday and one on friday morning. that was very exciting for her.

friday night after "mom and dad" got home, i came home to find brooke waiting on my front porch. that was cool. we came in, i cleaned the house a little and washed practically every fucking dish in the house. it took me like an hour. then her, kirsten and i ate dinner and watched numbers and a couple episodes of will and grace.

saturday i had the CAAP test. i'm probably going to have to retake the math part (go figure...) but the reading part seemed to go rather well... then i came home, brooke and i took a nap, went to walmart which sparked an insane shopping spree to find halloween decorations and candle holders. woo...after going to 6 different stores, we found a bunch of decorations and no candle holders. boo. saturday night kirsten came back over and made us a nice pasta dinner and we drank a little wine. and by a little wine, i mean kirsten and brooke each had a little glass and i drank the other half of the bottle. then with 30 minutes until they closed, we went back to the liquor store and bought some more, and came home and drank that, too. not all, cause i had to have some for today (duh!). it was delicious...*see pics below.

wine bottle  me with wine

me with wine again

so, the first picture is obviously to two wine bottle from this weekend (both Rielsing), the second was my first attempt to take a picture of my drinking and the third is my accomplishment. woo hoo! wine tastes good.

today i vaccumed the entire house and sprinkled that yummy smelling carpet powder on it to make the house smell good. then i did laundry, and called the landlord to fix the plumbing in the basement for the party at the end of the month. overall, i think i have come to a decision, i could be a stay-at-home mommy and actually have fun staying with my kids, playing with them, reading to them, and keeping the house clean. cause hey, on top of all that, i could still do what i truly love, and that is write. i could write my poetry, i could write my sex novels, i could write childrens books...i could write whatever i want to write and still do my other true love...start and raise a family. now i just need to find a man...
